Dan Badger – President

Dan Badger is a Software Quality Assurance at General Dynamics Information Technologies (GDIT) in West Des Moines, Iowa. Dan has worked with GDIT since 2012. Prior to joining GDIT, Dan served as General Manager of the DMACC Newton Conference Center in Newton, Iowa.

Dan was a member of the Newton Jaycees. He is a Tenth Degree Jaycee, Hawkeye Corp Member #422, Senator #67974 and President of the Foundation for Iowa Jaycee Charities. He is active with the Iowa JCI Senate and the Foundation for Iowa Jaycee Charities.

Newton Standridge – Vice President / Investments

Has been involved with the Jaycees since 1975, serving on local, state and national in numerous areas.   Served the US JCI Senate as Liaison to the United States Junior Chamber, appointed annually by the National President of the United States JCI Senate, serving 2008-2013.   Responsibility was to help coordinate and communicate between both organizations.

While being involved in Jaycees he has also served the City of Norwalk 1981-1993, as Council 3 years and Mayor 9 years.

Participating in the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce since being founded in 1992.  Served on the Board many of these years and President in 2011.  Traveling twice to Washington DC representing the Chamber and City of Norwalk promoting municipal business and economic development.

Newton has been in the printing and promotions field since 1972 and is now busy with his own company Standridge Group.  In his “spare” time he keeps busy with the Norwalk Chamber as Marketing Chair and the Norwalk Utility Advisors Committee as Chair.  Selected as Chamber Member of the Year 2013

Wife of over 40 years, Carol is a R.N. and has been working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Blank Children’s Hospital since January 1973 where she is a member of the Transport Team.

Involved in the Foundation for Iowa Jaycees Charities in mid 80’s and now once again as Vice President.

Tom Welchans – Treasurer

Tom Welchans was the 85th President of the Iowa Jaycees/JCI Iowa in 2013.  In both 2014 and 2015, Tom served as the National Treasurer for the United States Jaycees/JCI USA, and continued to serve on the Finance Committee from 2016-2018.  He also received JCI USA Presidential Medallions for 2013, 2016 and 2017.  Tom is Iowa Jaycees Governor #438 and JCI Senator #76875 (Lifetime #296).  He is currently a member of the Des Moines Jaycees, and was previously a member and officer with the Atlantic Jaycees from 2008-2016, serving as Chapter President in 2010 and State Treasurer in 2012.

Professionally, Tom is a CPA working as a Tax Supervisor at Denman & Company, LLP in West Des Moines.  He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting.  He is also actively involved with the Waukee Rotary Club and serves as Treasurer for the FuseDSM Chamber of Commerce.

Lisa Badger – Secretary

Lisa Badger is a Business Analyst Manager at General Dynamics Information Technologies in West Des Moines, Iowa.  Lisa has been working on her current contract for the past 12 years and the health care industry for 22 years.

Lisa was a member of the Newton Jaycees.  She is a Tenth Degree Jaycee, Hawkeye Corp Member #423, Iowa Jaycee Governor #318, Senator #67973 and Secretary of the Foundation for Iowa Jaycee Charities.  She is active with the Iowa JCI Senate and the Foundation for Iowa Jaycee Charities.

Deb Puls – Director / Legal Oversight Chair

Deb began her Jaycee career as a member of the Dubuque Jaycees.  She was an active member and served as Personal Involvement Director, Activation Director and State Director of her chapter.  On the state level she served as the Iowa Jaycee Leadership Program Manager, and on the National level she was an Awards Judge for US Junior Chamber.

Deb is a Tenth Degree Jaycee, Lifetime member of the Dubuque Chapter of JCI Iowa, Hawkeye Corp Member #290, Iowa Jaycees Governor #439, and JCI Senator #55516 where she served as the 2018-19 Iowa JCI Senate State President.
 
She is a Lifetime Member of the Girl Scouts of USA and volunteered as a leader for over 32 years in the Little Cloud Council and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois Council.

She worked for 32 years as an Admin Assistant at Klauer Manufacturing Company, a family owned manufacturing company in Dubuque, Iowa, and retired from the company in 2019.

Angie Taylor – Director / Solicitation Chair

Angie Taylor is an Independent Skincare and Cosmetic Consultant with Mary Kay and is a Realtor with Coldwell Banker in Altoona, IA.  Angie has been a consultant with Mary Kay for 5 years and a Realtor for 13 years.

Angie has been very involved with non-profit organizations from the young age of 8.  She became an active 4-Her in Worth County at age 8 and aged out of 4-H her freshman year in college.  She served on her local chapter level, as well as, State and National Levels.  She is a National Tray runner up winner for her Citizenship Project. She served on the Worth County Council for 4 years, State Council for 1 year and 1 year as an intern.  Angie was also the National 4-H Ambassador for the State of Iowa 4-H Program.  Thru out the years She has served on various boards for different non-profit organizations.

Angie began her Jaycee career in Columbia, SC, where she served as a founding member of the Lake Murray Jaycees where she served as local chapter president for 2 years.  She also served on the South Carolina State Jaycee Board as State Chaplin, State Program Manager for Jaycees Against Youth Smoking, SC State Program Manager for Corporate Sponsorships, SC Co-Chair of the Outstanding Young Persons Award Program.

Angie moved back to Iowa in 2009 and joined the Clive Jaycees. Angie served on the Iowa State Board as a Regional Director and State Vice President.

She also served the Jaycees on a National Level.  She served 6 years on the National Awards Committee and served 2 years as the National Program Manager for the partnership between the United States Jaycees and the American Cancer Society.  Over her 6 active years of being a Jaycee she has won multiple local, state and national awards. Some highlights are the National Award for the 2007 Charles Kulp, Jr. Memorial, Local Outstanding President and National Award for 2011 Hamilton Memorial Winner (Top State VP).

She is JCI Senator #71600, Iowa JCI Lifetime Senator #287, Iowa Governor #427, Iowa Hawkeye Corp #433, and South Carolina Palmetto Corp #595.  Angie is married to Tracy Taylor and she has a Step-Son Patrick.

Thomas Molstad – Director / Grant Review Chair

Dr Tom Molstad is a chiropractor practicing in Sioux City since 1995.

When he is not busy with patients, he is active with his church, Morningside Kiwanis, the Festival of Trees-Sioux City, the Foundation for Iowa Jaycee Charities, and Special Olympics.

Brian Witte – Director / Public Relations Chair

Brian has a BFA in Fine Art from the College of Design at Iowa State University.  He lives in Ankeny with his wife, Peg and dog, Bailey, where he works in the sign industry as a Production Manager at Signarama Ankeny.

He joined the Hampton Jaycees in 1997 where he served numerous roles and chapter President in 2001.  He joined the Cedar Falls Jaycees in 2002 and worked on project committees for the local fireworks, youth sports, Live to 9, and Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts to name a few.  He stepped up to the state level as 2008 Youth Sports Program Manager, 2009 & 2010 State Vice President, and 2011 ONTO Chicago Chair.  He finished his Jaycee career as a 2012 National Awards Committee Judge and National Convention Committee member. He received the Dennis Hamilton Memorial Award from the US Jaycees as one of the top State Vice Presidents in the nation in 2010 . 

Brian is Iowa Jaycee Governor #353, Past President of the Iowa Jaycee Governors Association, and JCI Senator #68535.  He currently serves as the 54th President of the Iowa JCI Senate and Public Relations Chair for the Foundation.

Joshua Masson – Director

Joshua moved to Iowa from New York and found a volunteer home in the Jaycees.  After serving on local boards and committees, he stepped up to the state level as a Regional Director, State Vice President and as 84th President of the Iowa Jaycees.  He is an Iowa Jaycee Governor and JCI Senator and currently serves as President of the Iowa Jaycee Governors Association and Director At Large on the Foundation for Iowa Jaycee Charities.

He lives in Mason City, Iowa with his wife Anna Maria.

Paul Crawford – Director

Paul has been a resident of Iowa most of his life. He has a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Political Science from Knox College in Galesburg, IL and a master’s degree in political science from Iowa State University.

He worked in non-profit management and fundraising for 10 years before moving into account and product management for over 15 years. He served as the JCI Clive Chapter president in 2008, JCI Iowa State President on 2011 and JCI USA National Vice President in 2013 among other roles serving the members of JCI. Paul has been a member of the Foundation for Iowa Jaycees Charities for almost 15 years

He received the Dennis Hamilton Memorial Award from the US Jaycees as one of the top State Vice Presidents in the nation. He is an Iowa Jaycee Governor and a JCI Senator.

Parker Thirnbeck- Legal Advisor

Parker has been a member of the Mason City Jaycees since 2013. He began his career with the Mason City Jaycees as Vice President of Individual Development in 2015 from JCI Iowa. After the local President had to step down, he stepped up and finished the year as Local President.  During that year, he won the Kenneth E. Behrens Memorial Award (Top Local President) from the JCI Iowa. The Mason City Jaycees also won Top Local Chapter in 2015. The following year, he served as Chairmen of the Board.  He served on the State Board as Red Region Director (2016), State Vice President (2017), Membership Director (2018), and is currently serving as the JCI Iowa Chairman of the Board for 2020.

Parker grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and works as a Assistant Public Defender in Mason City, Iowa. He represents indigent defendants in criminal cases from simple misdemeanor to class “A” felonies. He also represents juveniles in juvenile delinquency cases as well. 

Amanda Birch – 2025 JCI Iowa State President

Amanda joined the Greater Muscatine Jaycees in 2005. Since 2013 she’s been a member of the Jaycees of the Quad Cities. Throughout her Jaycees career Amanda has held numerous local chapter positions, including Chapter President in 2009 and was State Director 2021-2024, and has won various awards for her hard work and dedication to the organization.

She received the 2010 M. Keith Upson Memorial Award from JCI USA. Has received JCI USA Presidential Medallions in 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 2021 was a member of the JCI USA Communication team. Amanda was the JCI USA Awards Program Manager from 2022-2024 and has been on the Elections committee a few different times. She has earned accolades such as Top Local Member, Top Management VP, Top Chapter President, 2010 David Tetmeyer Memorial Award for District Director of the Year, 2011 Scott Brettmann Memorial Award for Regional Director of the Year, and 2023 Top State VP. She has held JCI Iowa positions of State Events Program Manager numerous times, 2019 Senate Liaison, 2020 Presidential Assistant, 2023 State VP, 2024 State Membership Director and currently serves as the 2025 JCI Iowa State President. Angie Miller – 2025 JCI Iowa Immediate Past President

Angie Miller joined the Hampton Jaycees in 2009 and transferred to the Ames Jaycees in 2011. She then became a dual member when she joined the Nevada chapter in 2017. On a local level Angie has served
as State Director in 2009 in Hampton, President in 2010 in Hampton, State Events in 2011 in Ames, Vice President for the Nevada chapter in 2018, President in 2019 in Nevada, and Chairman of the Board in 2020 for Nevada.  On the state level Angie was the First Timers Educator in 2011, Red Regional Director in 2012, State Events Planner in 2013, State Vice President in 2014 and 2015, Co State Events Manager in 2017, State Events Manager in 2018, and 96th JCI Iowa State President in 2024.  

Angie has worked in the human services field for over 10 years working with low income families, people struggling with mental health, and more recently people and families that are struggling with addiction. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering, and going to sporting events.

Joanne Schwab – 2025-26 Iowa JCI Senate Chairman of the Board

Joanne joined the Greater Muscatine Jaycees in the late 90s. She served in many chapter positions including Chapter President in 2006. Through her years on the chapter board, she received numerous awards including 2006 Region Black Jaycees Outstanding Local chapter and 2006 Outstanding Local President for Region Black.

She was also on the Iowa Region Black Jaycees board as Secretary and Treasurer. After receiving her senatorship in 2011, Joanne has held numerous board positions including Scholarship Program Manager, Hospitality Program Manager, Region Black Director, Secretary, and in 2024-2025 was the 53rd IA JCI Senate President.

Joanne is JCI Iowa Governor #387 and IA JCI Senator #71117. She is currently the 2025-2026 Chairman of the Board for the Iowa JCI Senate, 2025-2026 is the Region VI Senate Secretary and the Iowa JCI Senate Representative on the Foundation.
